 Birthday Plans

    This weekend marks my twenty-first birthday. I am excited and looking forward to enjoying the day, but there is just one small problem. As some of you may know, I work for the Ohio Northern Football team. This weekend, we are away at Mount Union for our second road game of the year. Unfortunately, I have to travel up to Cleveland for a game. 

    Of course, I would rather just be able to relax and chill on my birthday, but I have to travel all the way there for a two o'clock game. And then head back, around a two-and-a-half hour drive back to Ada. But I have to do my job whether it rains or snows. So, I should go to this game because I know people rely on me. 

    Usually, a game takes around two-and-a-half to three hours from start to finish. I am considering driving myself to leave directly after the game. Usually, the team has to wait for everyone to get done showering, changing, and seeing friends and family. This all takes around another hour to complete. Now you see my point: if I drive myself, I can take off right after the game finishes. This saves me another hour not being able to see my family on my birthday, which is the only thing I want to do. 

    I'm writing this to see what you guys think I should do. It is a better situation than a bad situation. What would you all do in this situation? I hope to return with enough time to enjoy my day.

    Chase, I understand your predicament. I would drive myself to the game to save that extra time, especially if there was no work for me to do once the game had finished. I hope you enjoy your birthday regardless! Turning 21 is pretty cool. I always try to spend my birthday with friends and family. I have had many great birthday experiences, but one of the best was when I was in Spain on an exchange trip in high school. The family I was staying with made me a really nice cake and it was cool to be able to spend that time in a new country with my host student and his family and friends. Happy early birthday!

    Happy birthday this weekend. It's unfortunate that your first drink will have to be at J&T's... My 21st birthday happened in peak COVID so I didn't do much. I just spend time with the boys and ate some cake.

 Finals Burnout      Wow, this semester has really flown by. It feels like we were writing our first blog post just yesterday, and now we're penning our last. This class has been a rewarding experience overall. Sure, there were stressful moments, but that's part and parcel of any course. Ohio Northern Week One

 Ohio Northern Week One     This weekend kickoffs college football around the country. This includes your Ohio Northern Polar Bears. These bears are traveling up to Alma to hopefully have an action packed week one. If we take a look back at last year, Alma beat the ONU in extras. The news spiraling around the team it seems like they are liking their chances more this year than last.      Three weeks ago the team arrived to campus to start preseason camp. Having long days and football pretty much all day for about two weeks the team worked toward  sharpen their craft for the season. The biggest questions coming into this season was "what will these team be after last year?" With new offensive coordinator and a couple new coaches to help the polar bears have a better season than last.     I will be traveling with the team to Alma this week as their social media and content director.  Rangers Collapse      The Texas Rangers this season have been one of the better teams in the Major Leagues. The Rangers started off the season with fifty-two wins and thirty-nine losses. They lead their division over the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners by a couple of games. The Rangers finally made it to the all-star break, and it was a nice break, giving our players some days off and rest. After the all-star break, the Rangers have posted a twenty-four and twenty-three record since. What happened to them?
